OVERVIEW
South Luangwa National Park is the home of the walking safari, pioneered by Norman Carr in the 1950s, and who also created conservation based tourism.
It is a place of pristine beauty, crowned with the pristine, impressive Luangwa River. It feels relatively untouched by modern life, making for an exhilarating and unpredictable safari experience.
A short scheduled flight from Lusaka brings you to Mfuwe airport where you are met and transferred to the Time + Tide Kakuli property. The lodge is perched high above the Luangwa River and a permanent lagoon. You will spend the next 4 days here, exploring on foot and in vehicle.
The next 3 days will be used to explore the area around the camp. Depart at the crack of dawn and return when the skies are flecked with stars. Game drives, game walks, bush meals and sundowners are the order of the day.
Today you will head out to another Time + Tide property, Chinzombo Lodge, a premier level safari camp of the portfolio. Cross the Luangwa River to get to the lodge, where you will spend the next 4 nights.
The next 3 days are spent on game drives & walking safaris. If you need some downtime, each room has a small lap pool where the water is refreshingly cold. The lodge can also organize private yoga classes for you, if required.
